It’s not what I remember from graduate training schemes. Take one amazing country hotel, a land rover, blindfold and a seemingly crazy challenge started to unfold.

After a few moments with Ruari Chisholm and his team at High Performance Development anyone would feel ready to give it a go.

So with the drone up high, a Go Pro on the dashboard and two cameras on the ground, our film team was ready to capture just one of the Wow! factor challenges that Ruari uses to help participants on his training and development schemes understand key learnings from the classroom around leadership, communication and teamwork.

In this exercise one trainee is blindfolded and asked to take to the wheel of Ruari’s personal car with three colleagues in the backseat directing them around a course on a field.

No one forgets it and everyone remembers the messages.

It’s just one of the activities we filmed inside and outside of New Place Hotel to illustrate the work of HPD. As well as making showreels for HPD and New Place we helped develop a series of short films with Ruari to share his experience of how Graduate Training Schemes work best.

They will roll out on Linked In from the New Year.
